At times many of us struggle to pray. At others, we may feel like our prayer life just is not enough. But we can take heart in the truth that as Catholics, we have access to the liturgy, what Archbishop Lefebvre called the great prayer of the Church—for it is the prayer of Our Lord Jesus Christ

The Church emphasizes the importance of charity as the virtue that perfects us and unites all other virtues. Comparing a good person to a good knife, Father explains that fulfilling our purpose through charity is essential. Charity, unlike other virtues, directly connects us to God and must be the driving force behind our actions to truly lead a life of holiness.

“Thou has redeemed us with Thy blood O Lord, and made us a kingdom for our God.” Our Lord shed all His blood for us to show us His infinite love, from the Circumcision to the Crucifixion. God’s mercy is infinite and by His precious blood, He has washed away our sins.

Modesty in the broad sense concerns much more than how we dress or appear in public. Every aspect of how we carry ourselves is regulated by modesty. Modest persons do not seek to be the center of attention or exalt themselves, but rather they carry themselves with a quiet dignity.

The Church celebrates the Feast of the Precious Blood of Jesus reminds us that we are in need of redemption daily. It is also reminder that this redemption is personal, and touches upon all of our failings, particularly our selfishness.

According to the secular religion of the modern world, June is “Pride Month”–a time when the faithful are assailed with celebrations of perversity. It is particularly important then for Catholics to reflect on not only how society came to be in such a confused state, but to rededicate themselves to resisting the so-called “sexual revolution” in their own lives.

Living in the world can be difficult and complicated. It may even seem at times that God is not present. And so we must be ever mindful of Our Lord’s promise to us before His Ascension: “Behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world.”

The Fifth Commandment is not only a directive against taking violent action. It is a command to cleanse our souls from the malice and anger toward others while embracing a spirit of fraternal charity

We are creatures who are slaves to vanity. And vanity makes us empty. And this is why depend upon Christ, Who strengthens us.

The Gospel contains many accounts of Our Lord working miracles to heal the body. But every one points beyond those instances to remind us of His desire to heal our souls.
